What is Massage Therapy?

You'll be glad you asked

A massage therapy session at Sports Lab ranges from the nice and relaxing type to the gnarly deep tissue kind
- all rolled into one appointment! Sports Lab massage therapists work within a multidisciplinary team everyday so their approach to your care is different. They will look at you holistically - regardless of what your background is. EVERYONE benefits from increased mobility, improved posture and decreased stress.

It is not uncommon to feel that massage is a treat. Something that you might get for your birthday or Christmas. However massage can be a key part of recovery when your body is under a lot of strain and we know that you live life to the max. So regardless of how you spend your time, contact us today to find out how massage therapy can help.

Go on, look after yourself!

Do you deserve a massage?

Massage therapist Auckland
Let us consider this question more closely. Have you done anything in the last couple of weeks that was high load or repetitive? This could be training, working or just living? Are you preparing for a big physical challenge? Do you have aching muscles? Are you living each day to the fullest? Does you body not allow you to live life to the fullest? Are you in pain?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then your body deserves a massage.

Repeated strain begins to take a toll on your body and this means that you are unable to perform at your best. Without getting too technical, your muscles get in a bit of a crazy mess, adhesion's develop, stuff begins to become overwhelmed and you're left feeling tired and/or lackluster. Being unable to perform at your best is frustrating, while being in pain can lead to stress and inability to function in normal daily activities.
Sports Massage Helps...
  • Muscles recover more quickly
  • Adhesion to be broken down
  • Muscles to perform efficiently and strongly
  • Improve posture and muscle balance
  • Reduce stress and work place fatigue

At the lab we understand that different people require different forms of treatment depending on their goals. We see a large range of locals and pride ourselves on our ability to tailor our services to each individual.
